How do I get a password?

  1. If you received a board email from me, you can simply click here to obtain a password. This can be changed later.
  2. If you have not received an email, please email forum [at] ourboard.org and a temporary password will be issued to you. Please be sure to include your Username in this email.

How do I log-in?

At the top left of every page, there is Login link.
Please enter your username here and not your email address.
If you wish to remain logged-in, please check "Log me on automatically each visit".

How to change your password

At the top of the board on the right, click "User Control Panel".
On the left menu click "Profile" ยป "Edit account settings".

You must fill out all 5 boxes:
  1. E-mail address *skip #1 and #2 if your email address is present.
  2. Confirm e-mail address
  3. New password
  4. Confirm password
  5. Current password
Press Submit.

This change will deactivate your account and it will need to be activated again. An activation e-mail will be send to the new e-mail address, and when the user clicks the link in that e-mail, the account will be reactivated.

Alternatively, you can click here to get to your settings page.

I've never posted before and don't have a username!

Please register for a new account.

I'm absolutely desperate to post and I have not received my password!

Just register with your old username and the number #1 after it. I will fix you up later.

What do I do if the system claims I've already used the email in question but I never have before? :)

Please follow this step by step and in order.

Firstly, I would suggest you change your password to something you remember. ucp.php?i=profile&mode=reg_details

Secondly, I suggest you type your username and password.

Thirdly, I suspect you have Firefox set to delete cookies on exit.
Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > "Clear history when Firefox closes"

There is a settings button that will become active, when you have Firefox configured as above. Press the settings button, uncheck cookies, OK, OK.

You may find that is all in place and you have to look for other software clearing your cookies. In that case, I would look at your security software for a setting (which could be new) that clears cookies on reboot. Failing that, perhaps is is just a security level slider and happens to be one of the options covered. You'd need to consult the documentation for your product or do a bit of Googling.

i have always used FF with no problem logging in.
when i tried to change my password i got this message;
"The e-mail address confirmation you entered is too short."

i am not exiting ff . and yes i do have it to clear cookies etc.

i do clear cookies on my computer disk clean up.

first lets deal with why i get that message about the email address.

You would get that message if you tried to change your email address and the confirmation email address was shorter. As you are changing your password only, there is no need to enter anything in the email confirmation field.

If you have your settings set to delete cookies, then that is why you are logged-out. Are you trying to say that you leave your computer on 24/7/365 and never close Firefox in all that time?
