Link suggestion

Not sure if you'd want to do it, but it sure would be nice if you had one little spot on this board where a list of all helpful links could be in one place.   Maybe organized somehow?
Like these kind of things......

You know.....for idiots like me who can't remember where they filed what for future use?  LOL

Yes, we should build a sticky topic/s for these. I was just waiting until someone asked for something. LOL

Consider them filed here for now. LOL

I checked them and this is my opinion:

1: Quite nice. The slider doesn't slide with my mouse. I have to click it.

2: Really handy!

3 + 4: Things are not as simple as both of these make it out to be. They both make assumptions, which in the main may be correct but will surely cause differences for some people.

Not throwing any of them out. What I will do is categorise them into an index and add additional ones. That way, people can choose the ones they like.

Because my issue is in the indexing right now, would anyone else please leave links they would like indexed here for all to use? The more I see, the easier it will be to build a good index from the start. Even if you don't have links, just leave a suggestion for what you would like to find.

One other thought ... LOL I know, this is what holds me up. The links above would belong in Skins really. Others would belong in Help. Would that make it difficult for those that are unsure or are looking for more than one thing?

Where I am going here is that we can actually build pages on yuku. It's a cheat but it works. Rather than choose a forum or topic, would it be better to just have a button wherever you are on the board and have a page that opens with everything on it?

It all comes down to how I code it. Coding a post would be different from coding a page.

Oh Andrew I totally trust you to decide what's good and not good to keep.  I just grabbed those and tossed em out as examples.  As for the indexing......my brain started smoking when I read your musings.  Whatever you come up with will be uber great I'm sure.  LOL

My brain smokes all the time. Bad for its health. LOL

I'll sort something in a day or two, Deb.

Most of my links have to do with skins and making buttons type thing.
Here's one I really like for buttons as I use them all the time now for Logos and buttons:  http://cooltext.com/

However you decide to do it is fine with me........too many choices makes my brain hurt.Image

Anybody that uses Firefox as their browser can download Colorzilla, a design tool.  I use it when making skins for my boards and I love it.

Yes, that one is quite popular. That has prompted me to think of other FF addons. Thanks!

Here's two more to file and use if you think they are useful.

Here's another thing I use a lot when I want to grab color info from an existing area on a skin etc.

I actually use whatcolor more because I can see it better, but it's not free like pixie.

Thanks Deb.

I'm in the middle of designing a page based way of doing links, etc. The basics are looking good and I just have to figure how best to do the content. I should have it together in the next day or so.

That has prompted me to think of other FF addons.

I love this Firefox extension:

Extended Copy Menu

It adds "Copy as Plain Text" and "Copy as HTML" to the Edit and right-click menus. I find "Copy as Plain Text" to be invaluable when I want to paste something into a post without all the special formatting that might drag along with it. "Copy as HTML" actually copies the underlying HTML code; I think I use that option about twice a year. Image

Copy Without Formatting is a similar extension for Google Chrome (and other Chromium-based browsers, e.g. Flock and SRWare Iron). It only offers the ability to copy plain text and uses a floating button rather than menu items.

I love the image on-line editor. Image
